Privacy Policy

The content of this site is published on behalf of Prof. Dr. Hakan Karataş. Contact details for the data controller are given on the Contact page.

The site has no contact form, registration, comments or subscription — nothing that collects data. Contact is made directly by email; only the content of the email you write reaches us.

The server hosting the site keeps technical logs, as every web server does: IP address, request time, requested address and browser information. These logs are kept by the hosting provider for security and fault diagnosis; we do not use them to build visitor profiles.

In addition, the visit statistics described below are processed.

Google Analytics is used to understand which pages are viewed and how often. Measurement runs by default; when you turn it off on the Cookie Settings page it stops, the _ga cookies are deleted, and the tool is not loaded at all on your later visits.

The data processed are: the page addresses viewed, the time and duration of the visit, the link you arrived from, approximate location (country/city level), and device and browser information.

No directly identifying information such as your name or email address is sent to the tool. The data are processed by Google LLC and stored on servers outside Türkiye.

Advertising and profiling cookies are never used under any circumstances.

For visit statistics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (those beginning with _ga). You can turn measurement off on the Cookie Settings page; the cookies are then deleted.

Your browser's local storage additionally holds the preferences you set yourself. Those values never leave your browser and never reach us.

The Events & Media page includes YouTube videos. Their cover images are hosted on this site's own server, so opening the page causes no request to YouTube whatsoever.

If you do not consent on the notice, embedded playback stays disabled and clicking a video opens it on YouTube's own site instead. Once you consent, the video can play within the page; at that point a connection is made to YouTube's servers and your IP address is visible to YouTube.

Embedded playback uses the youtube-nocookie.com domain, which sets no tracking cookies.

The site may link to institutional pages. Once you follow such a link, the privacy practices of that site apply; we have no control over them.

Under Article 11 of Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 you have the right to request information about your personal data, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing.

The site is served over HTTPS. Browser security headers are enabled and source maps are not published.

If the behaviour of the site changes — for example if a contact form or a measurement tool is added — this text will be updated and the date above refreshed.
